People at North Carolina are getting fanatical with the Obamas. During the first family’s visit, which included their dog Bo at Ashville, the whole area seemed to scream nothing but only one word: Obama.
First Lady Michelle and their daughter Sasha and Malia are welcomed by different street paraphernalia and gimmicks during their vacation at the state. The different stores and boutiques lining the street came up with signages welcoming the first family and urging them to stop by. Some were creative enough to whip up ale named the President’s Spring Break Ale. A bookstore conjured a section solely dedicated to the president called the Barracks Obama. There were also Obama-themed stuff ranging from the president’s press exposures to his travels.
Much to the delight of the locals, the Obamas excited them with encounters during their visit in this conservative area. They were able to mix with their private vacation mingling with the people at the Grove Park Inn Resort and Spa.
As soon as the Obamas landed at the airport, they were already welcomed with much warmth. They then went to the 12 Bones Smokehouse, a not so luxurious dining place where they greeted and chatted with the locals, posed for photo ops and basically stoop down to the level of normal people. The president also visited the same place as a candidate on 2008.
The motorcade was likewise welcomed with so much glee. There were placards telling them how Sasha and Malia were loved. The president then went to Grove Park Inn and changed into hiking clothes. He and the first lady went for a hike at the Blue Ridge Mountains and surprised some hikers along the way.
Along with his friends Marty Nesbitt and Eric Whitaker, the president also indulged himself into a little golf session at sunset. The friends showed how special this moment as they flew with their wives all the way to North Carolina just to be with him. The following day, the president was back on the golf course again driving around the cart while absently dismissing stares and curiosity from other guests. The first lady went out to play tennis and they could only wonder if she has already visited the spa.
The first family’s appearance gathered much talks and enthusiasm among the local residents of North Carolina. For someone with a huge position and high stature such as Obama, it is always amazing to see him like the guy in the neighbourhood rather than the person who runs the super powered country such as United States.
Obama is truly admired by his dedication and commitment to the country. He is also admired for being a family man and a simple one at that. Despite the busy schedule of the president, taking a mini-vacation in a middle class area, eating food like what normal people would eat, enjoying a sport with friends on a sunset is such a refresher.
The Ashville real estate must be thrilled by the president’s visit. People who search for Ashville homes for sale might also find it exciting to anticipate when the president’s next visit would be.
